A parasite is is an organism that lives on or in a host organism. Parasites do not generally live on plants as they need to get their food at the expense of the host. Since plants do not eat, (they draw nutrients from the soil or water ) parasites don’t live on or in plants.
Parasites are found in animals as the animal feeds itself (the host) so the parasite can live inside while getting a constant supply of nutrients from that host. People become infected with parasites by consuming animal products, mainly meat and especially fish. Cooking the meat will not kill 100% of the parasites. Also, people with pets have shown 100% in tests to have parasites.
Although consuming raw milk, probably won’t give you parasites, it will, however, cause many other serious health problems. Consuming milk other than our mother’s milk (from ages 0-2) is the only milk humans should ever consume in their lifetime. Here is a great video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcN7SGGoCNI
We have our Raw Living Spirulina regularly tested at multiple USDA/FDA labs to make sure there are no harmful organisms, etc. to worry about. These are extensive tests that take weeks to complete. The results are shared on our Laboratory page.
Spirulina is a monoculture, which means it dominants is the environment. It only grows in very high PH water (10-10.5) where most other organisms can not survive.
For this and many other reasons, Spirulina is the only algae declared safe by the FDA and is GRAS certified.
Below is a study by UC Davis that showed that Spirulina actually protects the body from parasites.

“Together, increases in these cytokines suggest that spirulina is a strong proponent for protecting against intracellular pathogens and parasites and can potentially increase the expression of agents that stimulate inflammation, which also helps to protect the body against infectious and potentially harmful micro-organisms.
